March 8th

So today I came across a idiomatic proverb.  What a idiomatic proverb is a another way to say something. I'm sure your all familiar with the word idiom. But in case you are a idiom is a phrase that is non- literal. A proverb is a way of saying something that has advice.

So the one that I got was " you can have your cake and eat it too" The proverb literally means you can not keep your cake and eat it also. Once its gone its gone. But the meaning behind the proverb is you cant have the best of both worlds.

So when they say " you can have your cake and eat it too" mean or translate to you can't have it both ways.
