I teach you because I care about you

Sense my master plan is screen writing. I can adjust it whenever I need it to be. As long it is before we start filming the k-drama. One way I can be empathic is to listen to others. Before the staff starts to film the series they always do a reading. Which is when the actors read out the script. ( only there parts lol ) But during that time the writer take time to receive feedback from others.

I am a Master Chef

So  today I got some really important feed back which made me think. My original masterplan was to write a scrip about a girl who get accepted into a culinary school and has to fly to south Korea where the school is located. and then there will be some romance in there. I wanted to be like that.

But then I learned that some people like mystery and something more exciting.  Romance can still be involved I would just need to spice thing up.

So then I came up with this idea. A story that takes place in the Joseon era. ( a long time ago). There will be 3 princes. A girl who dreamed to be a famous chef in the royal capital. One day the Royal Family put out a petition looking for Female chefs. The royal family has always had men has there staff after what happened to the first emperor.  Why did they start hiring female chefs all of a sudden? What happened to the Crown Prince? and what dose this girl have to do with it? What is this curse on the Royal Family?

Today a Students became a Master

So today I got to interview Gabriela Mendoza From Santa Maria High School on her Key Interest. So earlier in the week she had posted links to go with her Key Interest.

There's a link to Gabby's blog. She has a interview of me on there as well. So make sure to go check it out.

Gabby's blog (gabrielamsmhs23.blogspot.com)

Q: What are you Key Interest?

They are Psychology, Nutrition, and Food Science

Q: What link is the do you think is your strongest ?

Well I would say numbers 2,3,4. I chose them because one of them is by an organization and the others were ted talk. Ted talk are from professional speakers who fact check there work often.

Q: What link do you think is the weakest?

Well I think I would choose the 1st link is the weakest because it is from an unfamiliar source for me. It something I just used because I need something.

Q: Why did you choose 2,3,4 as your strongest ?

I chose them as my strongest because I went into more detail with them. They are also familiar sights that I use often and I trust more.

Final Masterpiece Phase One

I am beginning the research that I will use to build my semester masterpiece. I am passionate about Korean culture and cuisine, and I love to learn languages and cook, so my Key Interest is creating a cooking drama show that focuses on Korean dessert.

Here is what I found so far:

1)  List of Korean desserts - Wikipedia

    •   I know everyone starts with Wikipedia, but I like it because each article comes with additional resources I can use to continue my research. For example, this one has 110 notes at the end, as well as a Bibliography I can use to find books and articles that have more details from experts.  I also like Wikipedia because everyone who reads the articles can fact-check them, so the information is usually up to date.

    • I chose this because its shows me what Ingredients to use. It also includes a picture of what the dessert looks like. In addition it also includes on the bottom of the picture  with how long it takes to cook and prep time as well.

    • I have used this website before when I tried to cook Korean food. I liked it because she has YouTube videos to go with the recipes. So you can watch her cook while you cook. She also has a lot of recipes with a wide verity. She even dose some recipes for vegans and vegetarian.

    • I know that CNN is often used for news. But CNN is not often used for just local news its actual dose a lot of reports on news on other country's. Actually CNN is a multi- International  News-based show. Also CNN is the news channel I grew up watching. So its something I trust.

    • Sense I am writing a Korean Drama about cooking. It would be nice to watch others that are similar. I like using this website because I can chose the region I want to watch it in. It also has many genres on there one being Food and Cooking. It also carries information about celebrities.
6) WEBTOON - Read Comics Online (webtoons.com)

    • Webtoons are comics written by Korean authors and they usually are in Korean. But some websites are use for mature audiences. This one here is actually a app on your phone that you can get which offers many choices. One of them including culinary. I trust  this more because I have been using it for a could of years now. plus the reviews on the app are 4.4/5. it also comes in 7+ languages.
7) The Best Online Baking Classes of 2021 (thespruceeats.com)

    • This website is very organized. If offers reviews on class to take and are separated. It gives you the best options on classes you can take. It also provided more information on why they choose these websites. It give you multiple categories for anything. Like one of them being cooking classes for kids online. due to Covid people have to stay home now so parents could use something to do with your kids. What's better than a cooking class.

    • So what better than having a Disney Recipe theme episode! I grew up watching Disney and Pixar so I would really love to in clued this in one of the episodes. This website is an official Disney sight. It provides you with multiple recipes for one character or movie. Also people can comment on it there opinion of the recipe.

    • Many people use this website because it offers the best translations of anime and manga. But it is also a source where people go to get news about anime or manga. Like when the new chapter comes out or when a new season is going to be released. I trust this source because at the bottom of the article it will tell you where it got its source.

    • This is a great platform. It many different types of anime. It even has a section for games on there to. It has a shop for official anime merch which is hard to find and can go for a pretty penny. But on here the prices are reasonable.

The World Doesn't Owe Me A Thing

My long term finance goal is I want to be comfortable. Me and my Cousin have this quote that we often say. " Work until your bank account looks like a phone number". I forgot who actually said that. But that is something I go by.

My short term goal is in the next 6 months is to have at least over 300 saved up. I've been spending a lot of my money on K-pop and Manga. So I've been wanting to cut down on some of those expenses.

I am worth it!

I am worth it because I know that everything I do always put my best work in. I am a fast learner and I'm  also good at communicating with others. I want to become a person who is wise and smart. I will always work to do that.

How I Made Today My Masterpiece

Today what I did was I practice My Korean for about 2 hours. Then I went on a walk with my dog to get some fresh air. After that I watched some Korean dramas. And put the words I learned to work. Sometimes where in the k-drama where I know the sentences I repeat it back to my self. Today Happened to be the day I help my grandma with dinner. So today we made spaghetti. It was pretty easy in its self.  And that was it.

Master Plan

So today my teacher ask us to who is your role mentor? and why that person? To be honest I had a really hard time choosing my role mentor. I have never considered to have anyone as my role mentor before. The only people I knew where actors and K-pop. So when I was told to chose a role mentor I got what you would call writers block.

Growing up listening to K-pop and watching anime there weren't many people I could relate to. So I had often always turned to watching new K-pop groups as an outlet. One day when I was watching an Exo music show a Got7 music show was in my suggested to watch next. I had knew of Got7 at the time I just hadn't watched there videos yet until that day. I rembered it was there new song Fly that had just been released and this was the comeback show for it. The man reason I rembered it was because they were all wearing pink. I ended up really enjoying there music and performance so I watched a couple more videos of them preforming and then went on to watched other videos of them. After that I was Hooked on them.

So that's how I came to know the K-pop group called Got7. So when it came to choosing my Role mentor I wanted to choose a group that had internarial members. So Members that were born In Korea and weren't Korean. The Groups I choose Were Exo and Got7. When choosing my mentor I had certain quality that I had to take in account I didn't want to just choose any member. In the end it had came down to two members. I won't say who the other member was but in the end I choose Got7 Jackson.

My role model is Jackson Wang. He is a rapper, singer dancer and Fencer based in china. He is the founder of the record label Team Wang. Also he is the creative director and lead designers for Team Wang. Right Now her is a active solo artist and Member of the Korean boy group Got7.  When he was a fencer he was ranked 11th in the 2010 Summer Youth Olympics and won first place at the Asian Junior and Cadet Fencing Championships in 2011.

Jackson Wang skills came from opportunities and practice. Jackson Wang father is a Former Olympian Fencer and his mother is a world champ gymnast. So he naturally had the talented in sports. Jackson Wang is so good at fencing that her got offered a scholarship to Stanford university for fencing and even was offered to be in the London Olympics but he tuned it down. He chose his dream. During a interview he states" Yes, Its true. I turned Stanford University and I turned London Olympics down for becoming a singer." But then he goes on to say "But I just thought I'm probably going to regret when I'm 80 years old, and telling my grandkids "hey you know what? Your granddad, your grandpa, could've been a singer could have been this could have been that" I didn't want that regret So, I just gave it a try." He passed his addition and JYP entertainment and became a singer.

The fact that Jackson Wang even debuted as a K-pop Idol shows that he practices a lot. It is definitely not easy to become a Idol. When someone wants to become a K-pop idol you have to audition. If your lucky and pass the audition and sign your contract with the company. The Contract you just signed is basically a slave contract. You can't date, smoke, eat certain foods, you have to share one room with multiple people, You cant have a driver licenses, you can't hangout with the opposite gender, and many more. There's so many things you can't do when your training to be an Idol. This doesn't even guarantee that you will debut.

Jackson Wang had committed his life to becoming a K-pop idol. Training at all hours of the night or day. Get little sleep, Always on a diet. He wasn't able to see his family even on holidays. He had to always train and he also had to learned to read, speak and spell Korean. which is definitely not easy.

Jackson signed his contract on July 3rd 2011. He debuted January 16th 2014. I believe Got7 had finally had threw " big break" when they won Artist of the year at Asia Artist Awards in 2018. From then on they were steady and some members were able to go solo or even create a sub-unit. Jackson was able to prove him self was when he went solo as a artist in china. On August 25th 2017 he released his first English solo track 'Papillon' which reached #1 position on Billboard's China V Chart. Papillon currently has over 46 million views on YouTube.

Jackson successes took time. Also it took a lot of practice. Everyday constant practice for hours. No rest days even when he wanted to quit he still went to practice. What I can do to imitate his path is practice. His determination is something of his that I greatly admire. What I can do is Everyday learned a new word. Like How to pronounce, spell and say it. Then as time goes on I can start to learn two words a day. I will keep adding words every week.

Another Thing I can do is to look at new recipes everyday. To just explore and plan ahead on what I want to learn to cook. Like to do some studying before I started to cook the recipe. Most people think Idols are not to smart. Well they believe the ones are not from Korea but from else where. They think this  have to drop out of school to go to Korea. But actually Jackson know 3 languages. Korean, English and Chinses. But he also Know three Chinese dialects which are Mandarin, Cantonese and Shanghainese. His education is up to 11th grade. He also went to a international school.

As a result I would like to have more confidence in my Korean. If I am consistence with my practice I should be able to speak fairly well.  I know that I have to work for things I want in life and this is just one of the many things I want to accomplish. Jackson taught me to never stop dreaming. If you accomplish one dream then move on to the next. Jackson has accomplished many thing. And I know he going to continuing to do so. So I also want to become someone who is continuing  to flourish.

CURIOSITY BRINGS THIS CAT TO LIFE

Today our teacher asked us to read about curiosity and make a post on what we learned or something we thought was interesting. He gave us three different articles we could read. The links will be at the end. But the one I choose to read was the scholastic one. I choose this one became when I had done a brief pre-read I had really liked the questions.

What I learned about curiosity is that is the word mean to have a strong desire to knw or learn about something. But something I also learned was that curiosity makes your mind active instead of passive. People who are curious  always ask questions. The more curious someone about a something they will pay more attention to the subject. So the more you are curious about something the more you want to learn about it.

EVERYTHING IS A REMIX

I really liked the video and I was shocked to how much it was true. Now that I look back on it I realized so much was a remix of some thing ...
